My Mom made us promise we wouldn’t throw her a surprise party for her big day…so instead we surprised her with a cooking class at Stonewall…with a few of her closest friends!
The class was called Mamma Mia, which was fitting for the occasion! I’ve written about my experience at Stonewall Cooking School before, but basically it’s like being on the set of a cooking show. You don’t actually cook, you have the recipes in front of you, and you watch a demonstration of each recipe. Then, the best part, is that you get to try a serving of each recipe! Everything was amazhing. The menu for the night was:
Fried Mozzarella, Basil & Tomato Sandwich Skewers
Grilled Caesar Salad
Lobster Penne A La Vodka
Spring Peas with Chanterelles, Pancetta and Mint
Zabaglione with Fresh Strawberries and White Chocolate Biscotti
I think my favorite recipe was the mozzarella fried skewers, although everything was delicious. We had so much fun, and they even sang to the birthday girl!
This is such a fun place for a night with your best friend, a date with your significant other, or a small party. Check out the schedule here and try one (not affiliated with Stonewall, just absolutely love their classes)!
Not the best group pic but there were lots of people taking pictures at once. Love my mom and sisters and I’m so glad that we were able to keep it a surprise. We will definitely go back in the future.
