Hello! So I have been working on a project lately, eliminating unnecessary items from my life….starting with clothes! I went through my closet, cedar chest and bureau and have filled three trash bags to the brim.
I feel a lot lighter and can finally see what I have for clothes. I’ve always been a bit of a hoarder when it comes to my things always feeling like I need to hold on to things in case I need them, but I am learning that I feel much less stressed and much more relaxed when I am organized : )
Shirts organized by type so when I get dressed I know what I have!
I will keep you updated on progress as I go. Hoping to get rid of some more things this weekend…also to sell some more books which I will fill you in on soon. Happy Labor Day Weekend : )
So this weekend we went to a legendary concert, with two of the best performers we’ve grown up listening to..
To say we had fun would be an understatement. We got to Boston nice and early to partake in some day drinking and started things off right at the Yard House.
We took advantage of the sunshine and took a few more pics..
Next we moved on to one of our favorite places of all time…the Baseball Tavern. It is located right near Fenway and we have gone here many times before Red Sox games and after the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival.
We took a fam photo and then ended up meeting some people from 96.9.
They were giving out red sunglasses which were taken from me shortly after this pic by someone in our group ; )
We had some lunch, took some selfies and then headed over the Fenway.
We got to the stadium right around 7 and the concert started closer to 8:30. We had heard from people who went the night before that they started late so we weren’t too surprised. We had great seats and although we couldn’t see there faces up close, we had a great angle and they put everything up on big screens next to the stage anyways!
We had SO much fun, dancing and singing along. They put on a great show and I would definitely go see them again. They even convinced Chris, who was not really a fan of concerts, that they are actually a blast…we danced the night away and he asked me what our next concert will be haha. Well I’m off to do some work…happy hump day.
I’m always looking for newer, easier ways to save money. I’ve shared with you my $5 savings plan, and recently started another savings plan I discovered on Pinterest called the “52 week money challenge”. Essentially, you save the dollar amount for each week of the year, $1-$52. Some people go in order, which makes for a tough end of the year. I opted to just choose how much I wanted to save each week and check it off. By the end of the year you should have $1,378!! I made my own checklist but if you click here you can find a template to print.
I recently received an adorable zip pouch from a swimmer I used to coach and thought it would be a fun place to store my savings. You could also use a mason jar, old candle jar or any other envelope/container you have around!
Every Sunday I put what I have in my wallet and I have $70 so far! I’m hoping to use mine towards a fabulous vacation, but no matter what I decide I know I won’t regret trying this out.
Umm where did this past month go? I had the best intentions of posting but life got in the way! I’ve been enjoying the gorgeous weather and less time at work. I also passed my LCSW exam and was a bridesmaid this past weekend at one of my best friends weddings. So needless to say I have lots of catching up to do. Here are a few pics of what I’ve been up to this past month.
Rose’s from Chris’ garden
Backgammon poolside w/ jalapeno cocktails!
My favorite summer drink…1/2 pomegranate iced tea & 1/2 arnold palmer
Blurry…but checkers outside at Cracker Barrel on a giant board
Lots of studying for my LCSW exam…so glad it’s over!
Celebratory watermelon sangria!
Our crazy Daisy.
Ellie turned 10!!
Surprise date in Portsmouth…more to come on that : )
And last but certainly not least, Sara got married last weekend! She was absolutely stunning and I’ll be doing a re-cap soon ❤
The other night I wanted to make a fun meal for Chris and I after a long day of house projects. We were both pretty hungry and I wanted to make something with leftovers…I chose cowboy lasagna because it seemed pretty easy to make, and I’m glad I did because it ended up being delicious too! For someone reason it doesn’t want to let me link up, so here is the link if you want to see the original recipe: http://peppermintmochamama.blogspot.com/2012/10/cowboy-lasagna.html.
The ingredient list was simple: tater tots, mozzarella cheese, ground beef, tomato soup and corn. First you layer the tots in a 9×13 pan and then cover them with two cups of shredded mozzarella. Next, start cooking the ground beef. At this point you add in Worcestershire sauce and ground mustard which give it a lot of good flavor in the end. After you drain the beef, you add in a can of tomato soup and a large can of corn and let everything simmer on the stove top for about ten minutes.
When this step is done, pour the mixture over the top and sprinkle with the remaining two cups of cheese.
Lastly, put it in the oven for 30 min at 350! It was absolutely delicious and made a lot! It re-heated well the next day also. I will definitely be making this again soon.
You should try it too! Enjoy 🙂
Here are a few pics from the weekend! I tried out a new recipe (more to come later in the week), helped with some house projects, went on a date to a new to us restaurant and enjoyed a lazy sunday evening with some pool/backgammon time and a delicious dinner! Now trying to brave the rain/tornado warnings and hoping my last two clients come 🙂
As you may have realized, I’ve taken quite the break from blogging, which means you’ve missed out on quite a few good meals…mostly pinterest inspired, that I have attempted this past month! Rather than do a whole post for each I figured I’d give you one longer post with some pictures. Just thinking about all of these recipes is making me hungry 🙂
First up is paninis, one of our go to dinner options. One version had bbq chicken, guac and cheddar. I believe the other was pineapple and pesto. Delicious!
Next up is proscuitto, spinach and ricotta pizza.
Also, strawberry brownies which were not quite the consistency I expected, but delicious nonetheless…
The other night Chris was in charge and chose kebobs!
I also made a fun pasta dish with an easy sauce starter from Whole Foods.
And last but not least, Chris and Jessie made a delicious dessert, cookie on the bottom, brownie on the top and a filling of either peanut butter cups or oreos….SO yummy
Thinking about all of these great meals is making me hungry : ) xo
